Nowadays, when you need some information about what are you looking for you will go to the internet. On the Internet, you will find a thousand sources, but you didn't know whether the sources are valid or not. So, to get valid sources we need to vet the information. Vetting is the process of investigating and verification an individual, company, or etc before making finalization before joining the project.

Reading in a digital age requires students to "teach themselves"?

In the digital age, some information is available on the Internet, and students also look for it on the internet when they need some information. They don't need to wait for the teacher to give some printed paper but they can read by themselves on their mobile phone, tablet, or PC. so I agree with the statement about reading in a digital age requires students to teach themselves.
